I Am Scorpio is a screen or print based display typeface, that has drawn inspiration from Cambridge typeface, ink brush calligraphy, as well as European manuscripts dating as far back as the 14th century. Gothic type is some of the oldest and most iconic typography used across time, and truly is a work of art within a letter form. It is sophisticated, dark, passionate, masculine, feminine, sexy. I could only think of myself whilst researching my references. My goal became to create a gothic typeface that's never been done before like mine.

Process
No process of mine begins without a sketch... or a few. Exploring and researching Gothic art and architecture led me to experiment with many shapes, forms and emotional concepts.
Once I decided on an aesthetic and letter form, I continued to sketch and ink more forms.
After finalizing my letterform stokes, I scanned my sketchbook and brought my base letters into Adobe Illustrator. From there, I expanded my alphabet further and played around with style variations.

Yes, I am a Scorpio
I am a November Scorpio. I've only ever gotten my full horoscope chart calculated once, and the results crowned me a triple Scorpio. This means my sun, moon, and rising zodiac signs all reign Scorpio. I'm not entirely sure how accurate that reading was, but conceptually, I fell in love with the energy of a triple Scorpio. It is powerful, intense, and all-consuming. Scorpios often get a bad rap in the world of horoscopes for this intimidating intensity. They are characterized as jealous, obsessive, secretive, unforgiving, and even evil. I feel being a Scorpio doesn't automatically make you possess these traits, nor does not being a Scorpio limit you from having them. If you feel you are jealous, obsessive, secretive, unforgiving, and even evil... harness it.
